THE SHORT ANSWER

Our take

Worth considering for a planned UniFi upgrade. Check your clients, cabling, power, and uplink first; the Wi-Fi generation alone does not tell you how much your experience will improve.

Useful for

A network managed through UniFi

A planned upgrade with compatible clients

Installations with suitable wired backhaul

Keep in mind

Requires PoE+ power

An access point does not replace a router

No independent speed or coverage measurements in this review

What the specification tells us

Ubiquiti lists Wi-Fi 7, six spatial streams, a 2.5 GbE uplink, and PoE+ power for the U7 Pro. It supports ceiling or wall mounting and operates across 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands.

These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from our own testing. Advertised radio rates should not be treated as application throughput.

Check the rest of the network

Before buying, inventory the devices that will connect to it. Check their supported bands and standards. Review the switch ports, cabling, and power budget as part of the same purchase.

Our assessment: replacing an access point without identifying the bottleneck may deliver less benefit than expected. Placement and the building itself also matter. Plan coverage for your layout rather than treating a maximum coverage claim as a guarantee.

The buying decision

Shortlist it if you are building around UniFi and can support the necessary infrastructure. For a working network, first identify a concrete problem that this upgrade is intended to solve.

We have not measured reliability, range, or real-world throughput. This research review carries no numerical score. Check current regional specifications and the final offer before ordering.
