Two Industry Leaders Join Lenovo Board of Directors

HONG KONG, June 20, 2022– Lenovo Group (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the appointment of two industry leaders as independent non-executive directors of the company, namely Ms. Cher Wang Hsiueh Hong and Professor Xue Lan.

The two industry-acclaimed veterans join a group of nine other globally diverse directors at Lenovo’s board.

About Ms. Cher Wang Hsiueh Hong

Ms. Cher Wang Hsiueh Hong is the co-founder and chairwoman of HTC Corporation  and has established a number of other successful Information Technology related businesses over her 40 years career in the IT industry, including the establishment of VIA Technologies Inc. in 1992, a leading developer of computing platforms connecting businesses to advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and computer vision technology for transportation, industrial, smart city, and data center applications. Ms. Wang is currently also a director of Formosa Plastics Corporation, Xander International Corporation, and VIA Labs, Inc. (representing VIA Technologies, Inc.).

Ms. Wang participates as an Industry Partner in the World Economic Forum and was a member of the APEC Business Advisory Council for many years. Ms. Wang obtained her bachelor’s degree in Political Economy of Industrial Societies at the University of California, Berkeley in 1982.

About Professor Xue Lan

Professor Xue Lan is currently a professor at Tsinghua University, where he teaches and has research interests in Public Policy and Management, Science and Technology Policy, Crisis Management and Global Governance at Tsinghua University.  He is the Dean of Schwarzman College and the Dean of Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) of Tsinghua University. He also serves as a director of China Institute for Science and Technology Policy, and a co-director of Global Institute for Sustainable Development Goals at Tsinghua University. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, a non-resident Senior Fellow of the Brookings Institution, a board member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Association, and a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA).

Professor Xue is currently an independent non-executive director of SenseTime Group and Neusoft Corporation. He is serving as the vice chairman of the board of Chinese Association of Science and Science & Technology Policy, the chair of the National Expert Committee on New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Governance and is a member of the Standing Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology.
