New Lenovo LanSchool Classroom Management Software Enhances Classroom Collaboration

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – Sept. 12, 2016 – Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today launched LanSchool v8.0, an expanded version of Lenovo’s award-winning classroom software technology that promotes collaborative learning while helping to minimize student distractions. Responding to the needs of teachers and technology administrators in education, LanSchool v8.0 now provides additional support for Chromebooks in education to help keep students engaged, as well as enhancing safety in the digital environment. The new version of LanSchool also offers up to eight times faster screen sharing capabilities and a newly designed Reports Server, which offers greater support for filtering and monitoring initiatives.

Keeping Students Engaged in a Safe, Digital Learning Environment
Celebrating over 30 years developing classroom management software and powering 1.5 million education devices, Lenovo Software’s LanSchool v8.0 builds on that knowledge and experience to keep teachers and students involved and protected. Expanded support for e-safety in the classroom provides teachers and administrators with customizable alerts and snapshots of “banned words” and phrases so that an adult will know when any student is engaging in inappropriate behavior using their device. Enhanced capacity, screen capture alerts and instant reporting help protect students from online dangers and can monitor any problems students are expressing.

“Technology in the classroom creates additional opportunities as well as challenges for teachers and students. LanSchool helps to provide a collaborative and interactive environment, free from distractions, where children can learn and schools get the greatest return from their technology investment,” said Rick German, executive director, Lenovo Software Development.

Efficient and Works Across all Devices.
LanSchool works across all operating systems and devices, including: Windows PCs & tablets, Chromebooks, Macs, iOS, Android, and thin clients.

“LanSchool Classroom Management has made a huge impact on our district and teachers. The software has enabled teachers to take back control of the classroom while using technology. It’s easy to use and makes teachers feel empowered while engaging their students while using technology,” said Geoffrey S. Graboyes, systems support specialist II, Broward County Public Schools, Florida.
