Lenovo Awarded 2009 Supply Chain Excellence

Executive Gerry Smith Named Supply Chain Executive of the Year

Singapore, October 12, 2009: Lenovo (HKSE: 0992) (ADR: LNVGY) today received the SCM Logistics World 2009 Supply Chain Excellence award, at the organization’s annual  conference held here this week.  In addition, Lenovo’s Gerry Smith, senior vice president of Global Supply Chain, was named by SCM Logistics World 2009 as “Supply Chain Executive of the Year.”

The 2009 Supply Chain Excellence award applauds innovation and superior execution in supply chain management.  As the recipient of this award, Lenovo is recognized for its effective global strategy and use of Lean Six Sigma practices to maintain reliable delivery performance and minimize costs.  Of note, in 2009, Lenovo observed an increase in customer satisfaction and improved serviceability results related to its supply chain operations, while simultaneously reducing end-to-end and materials costs.

Smith earned Supply Chain Executive of the Year for his leadership in redefining Lenovo’s supply chain model to effectively support existing and new accounts.  He is recognized for establishing a sustainable management structure with unyielding attention to detail that has resulted in a more agile and effective supply chain.
