CDP Sustainability Ranking: Lenovo Recognized at Leadership Level

Lenovo has been recognized as a world leader in corporate sustainability by CDP (formerly known as Carbon Disclosure Project), achieving ‘Leadership level’ recognition for addressing climate change impacts. Lenovo was also recognized at the Leadership level for the second consecutive year in Supplier Engagement. Lenovo was one of over 8,400 companies to respond to the CDP survey in 2019, a nonprofit that manages a global disclosure system for organizations’ environmental impacts.

Lenovo’s response was evaluated and achieved a score of A- on the 2019 CDP climate change mitigation and performance reporting, putting it in the top 20% of reporting companies in the Electrical & Electronic Equipment activity group. An A- is within the highest Leadership level by CDP scoring criteria and methodology after Awareness, Disclosure and Management. The Leadership band translates into implementing current best practices in climate change besides being transparent about climate issues, having knowledge of impact on, and of, climate issues and taking coordinated action on climate issues. “While it’s an honor to receive industry recognition for our leadership and commitment to mitigate the impact of climate change through our own actions and engagement with our supply chain, our focus at Lenovo is around continual improvement. We regularly monitor our progress towards our climate change and energy efficiency commitments across our operations and our products, and look for ways to improve both globally and regionally,” said John Cerretani, Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer. “This includes initiatives like the installation of renewable energy projects at our sites and driving transparency in our carbon impact disclosures by reporting through CDP and publishing product carbon footprint data.”

Additionally, Lenovo received a Management level score of B- for water management and activities. This is the third year that we have disclosed our water management activities to CDP. For more information about our water management programs, see
