Lenovo’s First Ultrabook Wins Coveted iF Gold Product Design Award

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – February 10, 2012: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced its first Ultrabook, the IdeaPad U300s, won a Gold Product Design Award from the 2012 International Forum (iF). The iF receives more than 2,000 product entries from around the globe, and the top award winners are bestowed with a Gold Award, known as the “Design Oscar.”

This year’s internationally acclaimed panel of judges commended Lenovo on its pioneering vision and design strategy for the IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook. The jury panel said the “aluminum housing and special surface treatment imbue the laptop with a unique appearance and offers new tactile experiences for the user.” The panel also noted the device’s flat form factor and ergonomically shaped keys set the U300s apart, exuding high-quality design with an emphasis on user comfort.

“This international design award distinguishes Lenovo as a leader in product design in the growing Ultrabook segment, setting us ahead of the pack,” said Ying Jia Yao, vice president of Innovation Design Center, Lenovo. “The design of the IdeaPad U300s is inspired by the idea of creating a device with a shape and aesthetic that entices users to open it and discover all the wonders inside – much like a journal.”
