Lenovo goes for ease of use and affordability in new consumer desktop PC

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – October 14, 2008: Lenovo today announced the latest addition to its lineup of consumer desktop PCs – the H210. Affordable, easy to use and equipped with a full suite of cutting edge features such as facial recognition software, the H210 is designed to meet the needs of the entire family.

The H210, starting at $399, has a sleek, glossy black finish – and it’s easy on the eyes in more ways than one. Lenovo offers Bright Vision technology, which automatically adjusts screen brightness based on the user’s proximity and surrounding light conditions. While reducing eye strain, the system also warns users who get too close to the screen. Bright Vision technology utilizes Bright Vision software and a Bright Eye camera that can be attached to any monitor. The Bright Vision software and Bright Eye camera package are included on select models.

Through Lenovo’s VeriFace™ facial recognition software, the user has a unique and secure way to log on. Utilizing an optional computer camera, the user can use his or her facial image in place of a password, ensuring that unauthorized users are locked out. Other users can use a traditional password to log on.

Lenovo designed the H210 to be compatible with many electronic accessories such as digital cameras and digital video recorders by offering users access to 16 different media card inputs located on the upper portion of the front media panel. Users can also choose from up to eight USB ports for greater expandability with plug-in devices such as printers and scanners. For comfort and convenience, the H210 offers two front side USB ports that are placed nearly two inches apart to accommodate today’s wide variety of USB key designs.

Daily computing is made easier when users worry less about viruses and malware. The H210 comes complete with Lenovo Rescue System, a one-touch rescue button that allows users to quickly restore the PC and recover valuable data in the event of system crash. The Lenovo Rescue System interface also quickly diagnoses where a system corruption occurs, enabling a speedy and effective recovery.

Other safeguard features include File Management, which saves critical data on a special system partition in the event of system failure.

The H210 features leading mainstream system specifications including Intel® Core 2 Duo™ processors[1], up to 640 GB of hard drive storage and up to 4GB of memory. The H210 also comes equipped with DVD RW for burning home movies, photos and music.

Pricing and Availability
The H210 is available through various retail outlets in the United States. The starting price is $399. Monitor is sold separately.
