RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC and SAN JOSE, CA – September 17, 2009: Lenovo today announced an agreement with Wyse to extend both companies’ product portfolios to reach customers in the thin mobile client market worldwide. Beginning next quarter, Wyse will add its expertise in thin client operating system optimization, management and virtualization software to select models of high performance Lenovo mobile clients. The companies will jointly market the products to meet a growing demand for powerful mobile thin clients, leveraging Wyse’s sales channels.
The new mobile thin client products are based on select Lenovo ThinkPad laptops, which provide a small footprint, extra long battery life, extreme durability and docking station capability. Wyse Technology’s thin computing software includes Wyse Device Manager, an asset, configuration management, diagnostics and firmware update solution for thin clients. Wyse TCX virtualization software delivers an excellent user experience for clients connected to Microsoft Windows Terminal Services, Citrix Application Delivery and VMware VDI.
