Hospice of the Valley Uses Lenovo Tablet PCs to Blend Technology with Patient Care

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – May 15, 2007 – Hospice of the Valley, one of the nation’s oldest and largest not-for-profit hospices, is deploying 450 Lenovo ThinkPad X60 and X41 Tablet PCs throughout its operations to help enhance patient care. The Lenovo Tablet PCs allow hospice staff to focus on providing the highest levels of care and support for patients and their families while providing quick and secure access to information for improved efficiency.

Doctors, nurses, social workers and admissions coordinators use the Lenovo Tablet PCs to quickly and easily access patient data from any location on the hospice IT network. For example, the Tablet PCs enable them to access medical history, medications, current pain level and other vital patient information from the database, like a real-time medical chart. They also use the keyboard-to-writing slate functionality along with Lenovo’s Active Rotate dynamic screen rotation as a more personal way of using technology to interact with patients.
