RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Oct. 31, 2006 – Lenovo today announced two new products – the Lenovo C200 notebook and the Lenovo J110 desktop – as well as improvements to the Lenovo V100 notebook in the 3000 Family Notebooks and Desktops.
“Small businesses face many challenges and owners want affordable and dependable notebooks so they can focus on what’s important, growing their business,” said Marc Godin, vice president, Lenovo worldwide notebook business unit. “Lenovo’s new C200 notebook and J110 desktop gives them what they need, a solid combination of value and performance in a best-of-breed design. With tools like Lenovo Care, customers can easily connect to wireless networks or recover from viruses at the push of a button, delivering a true worry-free computing experience.”
The C200 and V100 offer models with Intel Core2Duo processors that help efficiently run multiple programs, such as business or multimedia applications, while simultaneously conducting virus scans. The C200, V100 and the J110 offer Windows Vista™ Capable models. Customers also have the option of several models that are Windows Vista™ Premium Ready. Additionally, 802.11n wireless LAN technology 1 will be available on select models of the V100 notebooks.
Lenovo designed the C200 notebook with ergonomics in mind. Its curved silver exterior makes carrying more comfortable and a 15-inch anti-glare display makes reading easier. The C200 features a 5-in-1 multi-card reader to give users the convenience of reading multiple formats of cards from various devices, such as digital cameras, digital camcorders, USB storage devices, game controllers and digital music players. Repositioned ports on the C200 also provide easy access. Lenovo Care tools on the C200 deliver a worry-free computing experience with automated updates, one-button system recovery, easy connectivity and IBM service and support.
Millions of small businesses in the U.S. are depending more and more on PCs and on having a broadband wireless connection. Greater reliance on these tools for sales, advertising, research and communication, means 802.11n technology, the next generation of wireless LAN offered in select V100 notebooks, is becoming an even more important feature. 802.11n technology, along with greater processing performance and capability to run the next Windows operating system, will help prep small businesses to meet their business needs now and into the future.
Availability and Pricing Prices for the Lenovo 3000 Family Notebooks and Desktops start at $549 for the J110, $649 for the C200 and $999 for the V100. The notebooks and desktop will be available immediately.
